There is considerable—and renewed—political speculation amongst sources in Nova Scotia’s Tory and NDP encampments about the future of Premier Stephen McNeil.

The political speculation is that he will retire next year, 2019, when he reaches the age of ’Freedom 55’.

Now in his second term as premier, he is the first back-to-back majority government leader
