One hundred and eighty years after Halifax’s Samuel Cunard was awarded the first British transatlantic steamship mail contract, two Queens from the company that bears his name were in the city Friday for a visit. The flagship Queen Mary 2 berthed at Pier 20 and her sister ship, Queen Elizabeth, berthed at Pier 22.
