As Halifax’s pubs and watering holes get fancier and fancier, there’s one old standard that doesn’t seem to change – Maxwell’s Plum across from the Nova Centre on the corner of Sackville and Grafton streets.

“We’re Halifax’s iconic neighbourhood bar, which is locally owned and has been here since the mid-1980s,” manager Jennifer Swain says.

It’s true.
