Former Tory-turned-Liberal Bill Casey is not on the ballot for only the second time since his 1988 win in the federal regime of Brian Mulroney. He held the Cumberland-Colchester seat from 1988 to 2009, and then again from 2015 to 2019.

He has opted to retire from politics, leaving the Cumberland-Colchester race wide open.
