For the first time ever in its history, and the company was founded in 1972, that Armour Group has teamed up with an independent building contractor.
The developer of the $200 M Quen’s Marque on the Halifax Waterfront formed a partnership with Bird Construction, and so far “it been successful”, says Scott McCrea.
He explains the reason for the partnership: “This is one of the most complex construction projects in the country, when you think of the underwater parking, the pool, and some of the interior systems we are doing, plus the copper plaiding we are doing and some of the curved lines we are doing (in the architecture)”, he says.
“I think our joint construction team has performed extraordinarily well. The fact we are opening the office space on time, and almost on time for the residents, even in the face of COVID, even in the face of rail blockades, and we had a crane strike during it, and we have dealt with hurricanes”, he points out.
“Despite all those things, we are going to open the building on time – not many people can say that”.
