Continuing with our comprehensive coverage of the mayoral race in Halifax Regional Municipality, we will touch base with one of the youngest candidates campaigning to become mayor.
Nolan Greenough was among a group of mayoral contenders asked to debate at this week’s Halifax Chamber of Commerce event, along with the front runners, Andy Fillmore, Pam Lovelace and Waye Mason.
The Notebook plans to profile those contenders who are appearing at debates.
On the ‘Meet Nolan’ page of his website, the youthful Greenough gives a biography:
“Born in Halifax, Nolan spent his early years in Prospect, where, at the age of 10, he gained an appreciation for entrepreneurship through starting his own small business selling handmade toys at the Harbourview Market on weekends.
“Moving to Spryfield in his teens, he continued on with his classmates from Prospect and graduated from Halifax West.
“After graduation, he secured a full-time day job as a tire technician in Cole Harbour and enrolled for night classes in the automotive service technician program at NSCC in Woodlawn.”

Halifax mayoral candidate Nolan Greenlough, an apprentice mechanic, has campaigned for mayor on a pro-working class platform, citing his experience of striving for and eventually obtaining his own home.
He now works full-time as an apprentice mechanic in Bayers Lake.
We will touch base with Nolan Greenough tomorrow in The Notebook on Sunday and report more of his life story and his policies as he campaigns for mayor of HRM.
Stay tuned.
