Fillmore To Deliver His First ‘State Of The Municipality’ Address As Mayor Of Halifax

Halifax Regional Municipality Mayor Andy Fillmore will take to the podium on Monday for his first State of the Municipality address.

The event is being jointly hosted by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce and Halifax Partnership.

The event at noon hour is being hosted at the Halifax Convention Centre, presented by RBC/Royal Bank of Canada.

The event offers business and community leaders the opportunity to connect directly with Mayor Fillmore and gain insight into the current state and future direction of the municipality, says an announcement by the Chamber and Partnership. Fillmore is expected to take the stage around 12:45 p.m.,”

“Halifax is a city that continues to grow, evolve, and strengthen,” says Patrick Sullivan, CEO of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce.

“This event provides a platform for our business community to hear directly from Mayor Fillmore as we chart a collective path forward. It’s also an opportunity to connect with our newly elected mayor and hear about his experience since taking office, learn about the current state and future of the municipality, and gain insight into how key city projects are progressing,” adds Sullivan.

Wendy Luther, CEO of the Halifax Partnership, says, “The strength of Halifax lies in our ability to adapt, grow, and work together to support our diverse businesses. Economic growth is not just about numbers — it’s about creating a thriving community where opportunity is accessible to all.

“The State of the Municipality is an opportunity to hear from Mayor Fillmore about Halifax’s economic and community progress and the challenges our city faces and must solve together,” she adds.
